Toronto City Hall is one of the most iconic spots in the city for an intimate wedding or elopement. Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, it offers couples a meaningful, legal ceremony without the pressure of a large traditional wedding — just the people who matter most, gathered in one of Canada's most recognizable buildings. For couples planning an intimate Toronto wedding, City Hall offers something no venue can replicate: the feeling that your love is officially part of this city's story.
Noah and Amal's November wedding was exactly that — intimate, meaningful, and surrounded by the warm fall colours that Toronto holds onto so beautifully this time of year.
GETTING READY
The morning began at the Chelsea Hotel in downtown Toronto, where Amal and her mother were getting ready together. Amal wore a white jumpsuit and a white turban she had chosen for herself — and one of the most tender moments of the entire day came when her mother, who had flown in from the United States just for the weekend, helped her put it on. That quiet act of love between a mother and daughter set the tone for everything that followed.
FIRST LOOK
Noah arrived at Toronto City Hall dressed in a traditional Filipino Barong Tagalog — the elegant long sleeved embroidered shirt worn by Filipino grooms — a beautiful nod to heritage that felt personal and grounded against the backdrop of a Toronto November.
When Amal arrived and the two finally saw each other, the emotion was immediate and completely unguarded. A first look at City Hall, with the architecture of one of Toronto's most recognizable landmarks surrounding them and their families nearby, felt like the city itself was bearing witness to their love. It was one of those moments where I step back and simply let it unfold.
CEREMONY
The ceremony was intimate by design. Gathered around Noah and Amal were Noah's parents, sibling, and two cousins, Amal's mother, and two close friends — one of them a trans man who stood witness to a moment that felt both deeply personal and quietly historic.
There is something profoundly moving about photographing a trans couple surrounded by family who show up — fully, lovingly, without reservation. Family support is never guaranteed, and when it's there, it fills a room in a way that's impossible to miss through a lens. Noah and Amal married each other legally, freely, and surrounded by people who love them. That is everything.
DINNER
After the ceremony and family portraits around Toronto City Hall, the celebration continued at Blu Ristorante for an intimate dinner with their closest family and friends. It was the perfect ending to the day — unhurried, warm, and full of the kind of laughter and conversation that only happens when everyone at the table truly belongs there.
