Sofia and Quin's wedding day was one of a kind — a perfect mix of intimacy, laughter, and community. From their private vows to a lively celebration at Granite Brewery, one of Toronto's most charming local venues, every moment felt uniquely theirs. As an American couple who chose Canada for its safety and inclusivity, their day carried an extra layer of meaning — a testament to their courage to live and love authentically.

Sofia and Quin's queer wedding at Granite Brewery Toronto was featured on Dancing With Her — one of the world's largest LGBTQ+ wedding publications — a testament to how beautifully intentional and authentic their day was.

Private vows at home

After getting ready in separate places, Sofia and Quin shared a private first look at their apartment. This was followed by one of my favourite moments of the entire day — just the two of them, standing together, reading their vows to each other in complete privacy. No audience, no distractions. Just two people fully present in the moment.

Before heading to the venue, they took a few more moments together in their apartment — a chance to pause, breathe, and capture intimate portraits in the space they share. These quiet moments grounded them before the celebrations began and added a deeply personal touch to their day.

Sofia's crew — the brides' buddies, as she called them — absolutely devoured the group shots. The energy was contagious and the portraits showed exactly the kind of community that surrounded this couple on their day

Ceremony at Granite Brewery Toronto

The ceremony took place in the private courtyard at Granite Brewery — a charming east end Toronto brewery that made for an intimate and completely unique wedding venue. Quin's brother and sister-in-law officiated, and as the brides walked down the aisle, a bubble machine enthusiastically operated by the only child in attendance filled the air with pure magic.

Reception and Celebration

The reception unfolded as a heartfelt celebration filled with laughter, toasts, and the cutting of a lemon poppyseed bundt cake — baked by Sofia herself. Her mom had handcrafted the cake stand and the adorable couple figurines perched on top, a reminder of how much love surrounded them on every side.

FAQ — Granite Brewery Toronto weddings

Where is Granite Brewery located in Toronto?

Granite Brewery is located at 245 Eglinton Avenue East in midtown Toronto, at the corner of Mt. Pleasant and Eglinton. It is easily accessible by TTC and free underground parking is available on site for wedding guests — one of the most practical advantages of this venue in a city where parking is rarely free or easy.

How much does a wedding at Granite Brewery cost?

Granite Brewery is one of the most transparently priced and affordable wedding venues in Toronto. Based on their 2026 event pricing, food packages range from approximately $21–$26 per person for hors d'oeuvres packages, $34–$47 per person for buffet options, and $37–$48 per person for seated dinner menus. White table cloths and napkins are available for an additional $275 and a projector and AV setup costs $150. All prices are plus HST and gratuities are not included. A minimum of 25–30 guests is required depending on the package selected. Contact Granite Brewery directly for current wedding-specific package pricing as it differs from standard event pricing.

How many guests can Granite Brewery accommodate for a wedding?

Granite Brewery can accommodate between 80 and 120 seated guests in the main dining room and snug combined. The space can be sectioned off with dividers for smaller parties who want a more private feel. A minimum of 80 guests is required for Saturday bookings. Weekday and Friday weddings can be accommodated with smaller guest counts.

Can you have your ceremony at Granite Brewery?

Yes — and this is one of the venue's most compelling features. Granite Brewery includes a beautiful private courtyard patio that can be used for an on-site ceremony and outdoor cocktail hour. The courtyard is partially covered to protect guests from unexpected weather changes and also makes a gorgeous portrait location in the warmer months. Having ceremony and reception in one location removes the need for transportation between venues — one of the biggest stress reducers in wedding planning.

What bar options are available at Granite Brewery?

Three bar options are available. A cash bar where guests pay individually, a drink ticket system with custom pricing through your Granite representative, or a four-hour open bar which includes all Granite ales on tap (9–12 choices), house VQA wine including Pinot Grigio and Cabernet Merlot, and standard spirits including rye, vodka, rum, gin, and scotch. Soft drinks, iced tea, and juice are included in the open bar. Shooters and shots are not included. All Granite staff are Smart Serve certified.

How many craft beers are available at a Granite Brewery wedding?

Between 9 and 12 Granite ales are available on tap at any given time — all brewed on site. For couples who love craft beer this is one of the most compelling reasons to choose this venue. Your guests get to drink genuinely fresh locally made beer throughout the entire celebration. What food options are available for a Granite Brewery wedding?

All packages include vegetarian options and a vegan gluten-free pasta primavera. Dietary restrictions and allergies can be accommodated. Selections and quantities must be confirmed in advance.

Can you bring your own vendors to a Granite Brewery wedding?

Granite Brewery provides in-house catering and bar service as part of their wedding packages. Outside decorators are generally welcomed and you can arrange your own photographer, DJ or band, and florist. Choosing the right photographer is one of the most important vendor decisions you will make — read this guide on [five mistakes couples make when booking a wedding photographer in Toronto] (link → consequencephoto.ca/blog/five-mistakes-booking-wedding-photographer-toronto) before you start your search. Confirm specific vendor policies directly with Granite Brewery when booking.

Is Granite Brewery LGBTQ+ friendly?

Absolutely — Granite Brewery hosts inclusive events including drag brunches and has welcomed couples of all identities warmly. Sofia and Quin specifically chose Granite Brewery after noticing the inclusive bathroom signage on their first visit and seeing a previous lesbian wedding featured on the venue's website. That kind of visible and proactive inclusivity matters — and Granite Brewery delivers on it consistently. If you are looking for more queer wedding inspiration in Toronto, take a look at this same-sex garden wedding at Fantasy Farm Toronto and this transgender love celebration at Toronto City Hall — two very different venues, two equally beautiful and personal celebrations.

What is the best time of year for a Granite Brewery wedding?

Granite Brewery weddings are wonderful year-round. The private courtyard is particularly beautiful in late summer and early autumn when the surrounding greenery is at its best — Sofia and Quin's fall wedding featured in this post is a perfect example. In cooler months the warm indoor space with its cozy pub character and craft beer atmosphere creates an entirely different but equally inviting celebration environment.

From start to finish, Sofia and Quin's Granite Brewery wedding was a testament to their love and their courage to live authentically. As a queer-affirming Toronto wedding photographer, photographing couples who have chosen to celebrate their love openly — especially those who have crossed borders to do so — is one of the greatest honours of this work. Sofia and Quin, thank you for letting me be part of your day.
